Would you take me back to a place 
as far back as a couple of nights ago 
when, at last, we first met eye to eye
gaze peeling our layers, one secret
after another, until the moment sings
gentle as the morning lark?  

Or would you bring me elsewhere,
beyond what our mind’s eye could see
where there are nothing more to hide
nowhere else to go, hearts fluttering
until both perch on a single thread
unraveling like a song?
